Okay, so the weather is getting warmer and we are all dreaming about summer. To help you prepare, I’ve compiled a list of awesome products that you can use to for the spring and summer seasons!! I’ve featured my favorites from lip balms, sunscreens, foot scrubs, and hair products. Enjoy! B-)

BODY SCRUB AND HEALTHY SUNSCREEN FROM LAVANILA

The Healthy Body Butter ($25)

Vanilla has been used as a homeopathic aid for years. However, just recently studies are proving simply the scent of vanilla can be used to de-stress, help you sleep, and actually improve your mood!

Test the theory with Lavanila’s Pure Vanilla Collection. Free of drying alcohol, petrochemicals, and phthalates, Lavanila Laboratories contains natural ingredients and delivers a new generation of 100% healthy products that are elegant, refined, and luxurious in both formulation and design.

100% natural, healthy and effective—Lavanila’s The Healthy Sunscreen Collection will prepare you for any and all of life’s happenings.

Wearing sunscreen prevents sunburn, cell damage, and premature signs of aging. So why use a sunscreen full of harmful ingredients? Lavanila offers a highly nourishing and safe alternative to chemical-laden formulas. Perfect for sensitive skin, this fragrance-free, ultra-sheer formula glides on smoothly with no white residue for the ultimate in natural SPF protection.

For the Blondes

To help guarantee fun in the sun without the drying, damaging effects of high temperatures and chlorine on your hair, try UNITE Hair BLONDA Shampoo and Conditioner:

BLONDA Shampoo ($26.25): This shine-enhancing toning shampoo keeps blonde hair brilliant and healthy. The reparative formula is ideal for highlighted hair or high-lift blondes, and eliminates the brassy coloring in non-pigmented hair by infusing strands with violet-based ones. BLONDA Shampoo can even be used on naturally gray hair to remove the yellow tone.

How to use: Use one to two times per week. Leave in for no more than 60 seconds.

BLONDA Conditioner ($28.75): An intensely moisturizing formula, BLONDA Conditioner is designed to neutralize brassy tones, conditioning hair while preserving the vibrant blonde color. Developed with ultra-nourishing Cocos Nucifera Oil and hydrating Glycerin, which acts as a humectant to seal in moisture, BLONDA Conditioner makes straw-like, yellow, and brittle hair a thing of the past.

How to use: After rinsing out BLONDA Shampoo, apply BLONDA Conditioner from roots to ends. Leave in for 1-3 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

—

For Blondes, Brunettes, and Red-Head Beauties

Infused with crushed pearl, Hawaiian white honey, and other decadent ingredients, this duo ensures that every strand is more lustrous than before.

U LUXURY Shampoo ($34.95): A luscious blend of hydrating, protective crushed pearl, fortifying Hawaiian white honey, softening pure argan oil and gentle, coconut-derived cleansers, this sulfate and paraben-free shampoo provides a creamy lather that doesn’t strip hair of moisture or cause buildup. Developed with Panthenol, a botanical extract rich in Vitamin B, it adds vivid shine and weightless volume to hair, while strengthening and invigorating it.

How to use: Apply to wet hair, lather, rinse, and repeat as necessary. Follow with U LUXURY Conditioner.

U LUXURY Conditioner ($38.95): This rich, creamy conditioner features a potent fusion of crushed pearl, Hawaiian white honey, and pure argan oil, in addition to deeply nourishing shea butter, and apple, orange, lemon, and sugar cane extracts, which seal the hair cuticle to lock in moisture. Hair is left looking fuller and shinier and feeling softer and smoother.

How to use: Apply from roots to ends. Leave in for 1-3 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

REVIEW: I very unfortunately received a horrible razor cut last October (and, of course, it was a week before my boyfriend proposed!), which I am still trying to grow out. It made my already-fine hair look even thinner, and I have tried everything to try to give it the illusion of fullness as it grows out.

I LOVE the John Frieda Luxurious Volume Shampoo and Conditioner! It smells amazing and doesn’t weigh my hair down. Once my hair has been washed, conditioned, and towel-dried, I spray about 6-8 sprays (you might need more depending on the length of your hair) of the Fine to Full Blow-Out Spray before drying my hair. I couldn’t be happier with the results!

PRICE: $6.99-9.99

WHERE TO FIND IT: Food, drug, and mass retailers nationwide

——

John Frieda Colour Care: We’re sure you’ve noticed that Hollywood is red-hot right now. Whether its flame red, strawberry, or deep crimson, A-list stars are all changing it up by going red. For those who want join the red-headed ranks, it’s vital to keep color vibrant. Highly porous red hair fades the fastest, so protect color every time you shower with John Frieda’s new, must-have Radiant Red Shampoo and Conditioner. Formulated with enhanced anti-fade technology to preserve the intensity and saturation of rich reds, Radiant Red addresses the way red fades in three color dimensions to maintain vibrant, natural looking tones.

And it’s not just the redheads who can have incredible, richer color. The NEW Sheer Blonde and Brilliant Brunette lines help preserve salon-fresh blonde and brunette hues with each use. The John Frieda Everlasting Blonde Colour Preserving Shampoo and Conditioner are formulated with a new water-resistant technology designed to limit water penetration that could wash out pigments. The shampoo works to improve texture and shine without weighing hair down, while the conditioner boosts shine and smooths blonde locks.

And when brunette color fades, the result can be dull and monotone with an orange cast. The Colour Protecting Moisturising Shampoo and Conditioner was made just for brunettes to help maintain the dimensional quality and richness of color. Formulated with crushed pearls and sweet almond oil, these moisturizing formulas protect and preserve brunette tones as they rehydrate and replenish dry, color-treated brunette hair.

Spring is here and summer is quickly approaching—it’s the perfect time to add a pop color to your look! Whether you are looking for something to give your pucker a fuller, plumper look or just want a soft, natural glow, look no further! Soap & Glory and Clark’s Botanicals have got you covered.

For a lustrous, full pucker:

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick

Ultra-hydrating and glide-on smooth, these new lustrous lip crayons give a subtle—but definite—wash of creamy color in three “you’ve-gotta-get-‘em shades.” Buzz-free (this one visually volumizes without the tingle), this 3-D lip shine is packed with collagen-boosting pre-peptides for fuller, plumper-looking lips, while the exclusive ultimate shine and shaping technology and 3-D plump complex build a firming network that defines and instantly wraps to your lips.

Available in Nudist, Fuschia-ristic, and Plum Jam.

PRICE: $16.00

WHERE TO BUY: Sephora and www.sephora.com

My review: So incredibly awesome! These lip crayons deliver a great pop of color without being too overwhelming. It feels moisturizing like a lip balm but is shiny like a gloss and is easy to apply—the perfect combo!

For that soft, natural glow:

Clark’s Botanicals Ultra Rich Lip Tints

Our lips have become victim of the ever-changing weather. We can all agree dry lips are the worst. Loading on lip balms can only do so much. Clark’s Botanicals Ultra Rich Lip Tints give your lips a natural glow all while softening and moisturizing. Inspired by the original Ultra Rich Lip Balm, Clark’s Botanicals introduces eight Ultra Rich Lip Tints!

Using the same intensely hydrating formula of natural moisturizers, these Ultra Rich Lip Tints are packed with Shea Butter, Aloe Leaf Extract, Jojoba, and Sweet Almond Oil plus Marine Collagen Microspheres!

PRICE: $19.00

WHERE TO BUY: www.ClarksBotanicals.com

My review: I absolutely LOVE these lip tints! I used one shade for an outdoor photoshoot last week, and I was surprised that I didn’t have to reapply it as often as I’m used to! And, the color, when it does wear off, does so evenly without looking blotchy. So amazing—the perfect amount of color and moisture! I might actually use one of them for my upcoming wedding!

Global Kids Fashion Week also aims to educate and inspire people about Kids’ fashion and to celebrate how this specialist category has thrived and evolved over the past five years. AlexandAlexa (www.alexandalexa.com) is the global style destination for kids, offering over 200 premium brands spanning fashion, toys, sports and lifestyle. The site was launched in October 2007 by husband and wife duo Alex Theophanous and Alexa Till. As with most things in life, necessity is the mother of invention. With two children under the age of five, the pair were tired of the stress of family shopping trips. To access the world’s best kids collections without having to hit London's high street, they created an online shopping destination for parents. Five years on, the company has exceeded all growth expectations and is a true global player with a thriving customer base in over 100 countries. Alex Theophanous, founder and CEO of www.AlexandAlexa.com says: ‘Kids’ fashion is playful, fun and innovative – we all believe it deserves its own dedicated platform. This is why we are so proud to be supporting the very first Global Kids’ Fashion Week. With this event, we aim to put children’s fashion on the map worldwide’. The schedule included two main shows – an exclusive media event showcasing the latest Autum/Winter 2013 trends from leading labels worldwide on Tuesday 19th March; and a public/benefit show with showcasing Spring/Summer 2013 season looks from the AlexandAlexa brand portfolio on Wednesday 20th March. Proceeds from all ticket sales for the public fashion show will be donated to Kids Company, the charity partner for Global Kids Fashion Week. Global KidsFashion Week was designed to cast a spotlight on premium kids’ fashion, from both established designers and emerging names. Designers featured in the show included Luxury brands (Paul Smith Junior, Junior Gaultier, Chloe, Little Marc Jacobs, I Pinco Pallino, Suzanne Ermann, Anne Kurris, Supertrash), Premium casual brands (Tommy Hilfiger, Diesel, Scotch Shrunk, Scotch R'Belle, Wildfox) and Emerging/independent brands (Rachel Riley, Finger in the Nose, Munster Kids). In addition to the two fashion shows--the later being a benefit/pubic show--Global Kids Fashion Week also featured musical performances, a sponsored photobooth, as a mix of playful activities for children and parents (in collaboration with event partner the V&A Museum of Childhood), an after-party with refreshments served along with entertainment from supporting brands such as child-friendly nail varnish company Little Bu, and a bloggers lounge. Special celebrity and fashion industry guests (and their kids) included Jemma Kidd and Jodie Kidd, Daisy Bates, Amber Le Bon, Malin Jeffries, Lyndsay Lilly Keys, John Frieda, and Julietta Dexter. Other Global Kids Fashion Week Ambassadors included Sarah Curran, founder of www.my-wardrobe.com, Tanya Kazeminy Mackay, founding partner of Mama Mio Skincare, Model Portia Freeman, Pippa Vosper, founder of www.maternallychic.com blog and Olcay Gulsen, Dutch fashion designer and founder of SuperTrash Girls.
Proceeds from all ticket sales for the public fashion show will be donated to Kids Company (www.kidsco.org.uk), the charity partner for Global Kids Fashion Week.

Kids Company was founded by Camila Batmanghelidjh in 1996 and provide practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children. The organization provide a safe, caring, family environment where support is tailored to the needs of each individual, with services and support designed to empower children who have experienced enormous challenges to leading positive and fulfilling lives. These exceptionally vulnerable children not only negotiate significant challenges in their family homes, they also face immense threat within their neighbourhoods. Often they are exposed to relentless violence, some are forced into working as drug couriers or prostitutes, and many experience chronic abuse.

Their services reach 36,000 and intensively support 18,000 children across London, including the most deprived and at risk whose parents are unable to care for them due to their own practical and emotional challenges. In many cases, the roles of adult and child are reversed and, despite profound love, both struggle to survive. But despite great difficulties, the children they work with are hugely courageous and embrace the support they offer.

Lolë is bringing its “Live Out Loud Everyday” message to the public, welcoming experienced yoga practitioners and novices alike, through the company’s global program of mass yoga events. Brower will teach a revitalizing class featuring cleansing poses and tranquil meditation to further Lolë’s vision of spreading access to the healing benefits of yoga.

PLACE: Hilton New York, New York City

INSTRUCTOR: Elena Brower

Renowned yoga instructor and author of the mindful living book Art of Attention, Elena Brower will be teaching throughout the class-intensive weekend.
———————-

5 poses to master in 2013 from Elena Brower, Founder of Virayoga and Author of Art of Attention

1. Sitting meditation. For my family, teaching and relationships, to sit for at least 5 minutes a day is the most healing pose I can master.

2. Handstand, Ado Mukha Vrksasana. I’m always working on this and love it so much as a “reset” button on my body.

3. The “Ego Eradicator” meditation from Kundalini yoga involves arms up and out, breath of fire and feels like i’ve been cleared out each time I practice it.

4. Abdominal work. There are some core leg lifts that Yogi Bhajan designed for us that really help keep me grounded.

5. Shavasana. If i can take just a few minutes a day in this pose, my body feels better, brighter and more buoyant.

As the cold winter weather clings on, battle the rest of dry skin season with Jergens! Now more than ever, we covet ultra-smooth skin that stays moisturized and hydrated all day long. Jergens® Daily Moisture Dry Skin Moisturizer is a new formula that moisturizes for 24 hours straight and transforms dry, rough skin into visibly smooth skin.

Jergens Daily Moisture Dry Skin Moisturizer ($6.99)

Enriched with moisturizing Silk Proteins and a Citrus Extract blend, the formula leaves skin looking and feeling healthy and smooth while stimulating the senses with a unique, energizing fragrance. By combining superior 24-hour hydration and skin-smoothing benefits you can see, Jergens® Daily Moisture Dry Skin Moisturizer leaves skin looking four times smoother immediately and visibly increases skin’s smoothness all day.

I had the opportunity to ask body language expert Tonya Reiman some questions about the importance of healthy skin and how smooth skin can boost your confidence. She shares her thoughts:

Q: Tonya, can you tell us a bit about how the condition of our skin affects our emotional state and how the two are correlated?

A: Skin and emotion are directly correlated— if you give skin the moisture and nourishment it needs, not only will it leave your skin looking & feeling healthier, but it also actually improves your mental state. When you have that irresistible skin, it’ll not only boost the way you feel about yourself, but also impact the way you relate to others physically.

Q: How can giving our skin the proper care can boost confidence and overall emotional well-being?

A: It starts from the minute you get dressed in the morning. The confidence of smooth, healthy skin will inspire you to choose outfits and colors that make people take notice—whether it’s a new business suit or an eye-catching dress. When our skin looks good and we feel confident, it also affects our body language. We walk with our heads held higher and our chins elevated, which add to our height.

Jergens Daily Moisture Dry Skin Moisturizer is available at grocery, mass retailers, and drugstores nationwide.
