What an awesome year London is having in 2012!
In addition to the QUEEN’S DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATION, and the (apparently) highly successful LONDON 2012 OLYMPIC GAMES (despite the early worries), the third annual WGSN GLOBAL FASHION AWARDS is to be held at THE SAVOY in LONDON on MONDAY 5TH NOVEMBER 2012.
Previously held in NEW YORK, the GLOBAL FASHION AWARDS honor fashion’s most inspirational and innovative individuals and businesses who are pushing the boundaries, propelling the industry forward and setting the design agenda on a global scale.

Entries are still open for category nominations to all those working across the fashion industry around the world. Submissions can be made via www.globalfashionawards.com and are free, with the award categories focus exclusively on outstanding design across apparel, accessories, retail and e-tail. The categories for the 2012 awards have been redefined to better focus exclusively on outstanding design across all areas: apparel, accessories, retail and E-Tail. As well as rewarding the world’s best individual designers, the 2012 WGSN Global Fashion Awards will also recognize the best specialist design teams in categories such as denim, intimates & swim, kidswear and sports & activewear.
The categories are: Best Emerging Designer (this category is open to any new designer, womenswear, menswear, or accessories, whose label is less than four years old as of June 30, 2012), Best Student Designer, Best Footwear & Accessories Designer, (Nomination Only**), Best Womenwear Designer (Nomination Only**), Best Menswear Designer (Nomination Only**), Best Denim Team, Best Intimate/Swim Design Team, Best Sports/Activewear Design Team, Best Buying Team (Multi-Brand Retailer/E-Tailer), Best Footwear & Accessories Design Team, Best Womenswear Design Team, Best Menswear Design Team, Best Kidswear Design Team, Best Store (This award will be presented to the store the panel of judges consider to be the ABSOLUTE BEST in the world), Best Multi-Channel Retailer, Best New Store/Refit, and Best E-Store (Pure Play). Winners will be selected by an expert panel of judges, including some of the most prominent people in the fashion and style industries, including designers, buying directors, stylists, merchants and marketing executives.
This year’s JUDGING PANEL consists of an EXCEPTIONAL array of global fashion and style industry talent—consisting of some of the most prominent and influential individuals in the industry—from around the world, with judges from SINGAPORE, HONG KONG, CHINA, AUSTRALIA, THE UNITED STATES and the UNITED KINGDOM.
