Adam Zohar 2019 Bridal Collection
by Austin Velarde
Debuting his 2019 Bridal Collection during NYFW, Designer Adam Zohar spectacularly recreated the traditional image of the bride.
Industria Studios rendered a warehouse atmosphere where guests viewed the show perched on industrial steel benches. An open garage door allowed West Village onlookers to view the show with awe as if to warmly welcome Zohar into the NYFW scene.
Along with the typical deep V-neckline and thigh-high slit, Zohar presented a very abstract, yet remarkable white headpiece and an extremely regal and sizable ball gown.
Furthermore, he paired white Dr. Marten combat boots with the gowns.
In an interview, Zohar said, “If you see, we don’t make this like bridal impression, it’s more edgy, given the space, given the music, everything it is exactly what we want and because this, we get this inspiration of the Dr. Marten boots.”
Though the combat boots are not easily transitioned off the runway and onto a bride, the “anti-bridal” feel to the collection proves that Zohar is willing to push the contemporary norms of bridal and add an essence of fashion to it.
