Bovet 1822 & Pininfarina Hosted
First Annual Miami Beach Concours Opening Night Event
April 9, 2015 – On March 21st Bovet 1822 toasted to the First Annual Miami Beach Concours at an opening night cocktail celebration with Italian design house and partner Pininfarina. The reception was an elegant event held in the Setai hotel courtyard in South Beach. Under a perfect starry night sky, partners and car owners alike gathered to kick off the weekend. Bovet owner Mr. Pascal Raffy, Pininfarina chairman Mr. Paolo Pininfarina and Mr. John Rigas owner of Asprey London – Bovet’s new strategic retail partner with a shop at the Setai hotel – were all in attendance. At the close of the evening each one spoke to those who had gathered to thank them for joining and learning more about their incredible partnerships.
Pascal Raffy honored the collection, saying: “I don’t like to be a follower, I rather prefer to be part of people who can be opinion makers. It’s more difficult but this world deserves and needs uniqueness, something truly valuable and for you to be sure that you have something that not everybody has because this is also true luxury”.
Paolo Pininfarina added, “The partnership with Bovet is a fantastic experience of friendship between two companies but also between two men… The success comes because the two companies are complimentary”.
Bovet ambassador and pro tennis player David Ferrer was also a guest of honor at the event. Everyone in attendance enjoyed themselves on this passionate evening, marveling at the breathtaking Bovet timepieces on display throughout the hotel and the exotic luxury cars parked outside. The reception was a spectacular way to initiate the first Miami Beach Concours event which celebrated the greatest sports, exotic and racing automobiles of the past 100 years.
About BOVET 1822:
BOVET 1822 is a Swiss ”Maison” of luxury timepieces whose origins date back to 1822, the year in which Edouard Bovet founded their workshop in the picturesque Val-de-Travers region of Switzerland. BOVET is renowned for its pocket watches manufactured for the Chinese market in the 19th century. Today, under the guidance and ownership of Pascal Raffy, a visionary with a passion for Haute Horologerie, BOVET is thriving, manufacturing unique timepieces distinguished by their pocket watch inspired form. From extraordinary complications such as tourbillons to rare artisanal crafts such as enamel painting and “fleurisanne” engraving, each BOVET timepiece is brought to life under the practiced hand of a BOVET master watchmaker. With a highly limited production annually, BOVET seeks to preserve and cultivate the art and craft of traditional watchmaking, while delighting connoisseurs and collectors.
