Facetune2 Targets Fashion Crowd with NYFW Activations

The popular photo-editing app, Facetune2, will work with Christian Cowan, LUAR, and LaQuan Smith this SS19 season.

ew York, NY – Facetune2, the cult favorite app that’s been downloaded over 3x more than as its predecessor, Facetune, seeks to raise awareness amongst fashion industry tastemakers this New York Fashion Week through partnerships with designers Christian Cowan, LUAR, and LaQuan Smith.

Fashion week runways are no longer strictly business.

Social media stars, celebrities, and influencers are all posting live from the front row.

Customers, fans, and followers are now virtually sitting front row seeing the latest designs walk the catwalk, and apps like Facetune2 are creating a way for the masses to experience New York Fashion Week behind the scenes like never before.

The apps’ parent company, Lightricks, envisions a huge opportunity within the fashion, beauty, and lifestyle industries for Facetune2.

The app, which is free to download, will make its way to the front rows of NYFW at three of the most star-studded events of the season.

At all three runway shows, celebrities, editors, and influencers will receive a lightbox promo gift on their front row seat to download Facetune 2 VIP, giving them lifetime access to all the app’s features, currently valued at $70.

Christian Cowan will be holding a social media contest asking followers to upload a selfie using Facetune2.

The catch?

They must be wearing something sparkly like a dress, eyeshadow, or light-catching accessory.

Entrants will use specific hashtags to potentially win front row tickets to the Christian Cowan show and a lifetime VIP subscription to Facetune2.

Fashion fans prepare to be bombarded by your favorite front row talent posting on Instagram about #Facetune2 at LaQuan Smith’s SS19 NYFW show.

Celebrities are no longer keeping secret about how they achieve perfect selfie skin. Facetune2 has become the new reality for social media influencers and creatives.

They religiously enhance any image with tools like smooth, whiten, relight, face, reshape, and backdrop before uploading to Instagram.

Designers and designer teams themselves will also be encouraged to use Facetune2 instead of more expensive, computer-based software after seeing the app in action via LUAR’s official show lookbook.

Each look in the collection that will walk the runway will be released side by side with an edited version, recontextualized by a visual artist using Facetune2 to highlight features, movement and more.

About Facetune 2

Facetune & Facetune2 have over 50 million downloads combined, worldwide.

Released in 2013, the same year “Selfie” entered the Oxford dictionary, Facetune was truly the original selfie editor.

It’s since become a household term, used as a synonym for retouching or photo editing.

Facetune2 came out in November 2016, this time as a free app, with a whole slew of new tools and a new subscription model – monthly, yearly or one-time payment for extra “VIP” features.

The app now acts as “your personal glam squad” rather than a blemish-remover, giving you the power to glam yourself up and be whoever you choose to be in any given photo.
