Hermione De Paula Spring 2019 Bridal Collection photos by Alistair Vlok

The Hermione De Paula Spring 2019 bridal and evening wear collection, ‘Abeona’s Garden’ is inspired by the Roman goddess, Abeona. She is the protector of travelers starting out on new journeys, children as they take their first steps and everyone who embraces the opportunity to explore the unknown. Escape with us into her fanciful and mystical garden where gossamer floral prints intertwine with exquisite embroidery evoking the essence of Spring.

Hermione De Paula’s exquisite collection of crowns and floral headpieces has been designed in collaboration with the talented V&A acknowledged jewelry artist Christopher Thompson Royds. Each piece is a resplendent interpretation of Hermione’s embroidery that is hand sculpted by Christopher from 18k gold, rose gold and white gold. The crowns are wearable heirloom art— the synergy of Hermione’s floral aesthetic and Christopher’s vision of capturing the ephemeral beauty of a flower.

These bespoke headpieces can be made to recreate the bride’s favorite flowers or her bouquet, with each petal individually engraved with a special date, initials or message. Diamonds and precious gems can be embedded into the petals to create a stunning, unique bridal design. The two designers have also produced ethereal wildflower crowns and delicate single flowers or clusters that can be inserted into a bride’s hair for a sublime accent.

Hermione De Paula, a London-based designer renowned for her bespoke couture bridal and evening wear, launched her label in 2008. Her creations embody a world where the exotic meets the traditional English country garden. Romantic and surrealist prints and an exquisite approach to detail underpin her design philosophy.

Hermione De Paula gowns are unlike any other: carefully designed with the bride, each piece is totally individual and personal, a work of art made by heart and hand. Each dress is created for each bride with specific details and design notes, such as secret messages, names and dates intertwined with flowers, so they are charmingly concealed. Hand-drawn illustrations of Hermione De Paula’s now signature botanical, flora and fauna, and lyrical aesthetic are transformed into gorgeous appliqués and exquisite embroidery.

In addition to her bridal success, Hermione De Paula designs evening wear that has been worn by Beyoncé, Keira Knightly and Florence Welch.
