Interview Star of BET’s “Hit the Floor” McKinley Freeman

Back by popular demand, smooth-talking heartthrob McKinley Freeman returns to the shamelessly addicting series, “Hit the Floor”which recently switched to BET from VH1 for a 4th season premiering on Tuesday, July 10th. With a new network, the show is hotter and sexier than ever before! Freeman stars with his scene-stealing, hypnotic charm as ‘Derek Roman,’ captain of the L.A. Devils Basketball team as he continues to heat things up on and off the court.
‘Hit the Floor’ premiered in 2013 on VH1 as the #1 new cable scripted series and became a social media phenomenon overnight as one of the top tweeted television shows. The hit drama series explores the fame, money, power and sex in professional basketball through the eyes of the fictional LA Devils basketball team and the LA Devil Girls dancers. The new season, which now airs on VH1, will feature familiar faces as well as new dancers (Teyana Taylor of Kanye West’s FADE fame is one) & basketball players fight to stake their claim under the red-hot spotlight of the LA Devils nation.

With a background in business and finance, McKinley is expanding his reach beyond the entertainment world and into the Tech/Start up space. His passion for environmental and global issues has led him to get involved with start ups that are developing solar powered Wi-Fi. His goal is to bring the internet to parts of the world that have never had this kind of access before.

In addition to his expertise in business and acting, Freeman has also taken on an affinity for producing and has already completed his first feature film, ILLICIT, that he produced and starred in. Furthermore, Freeman was seen most recently in hit shows, such as, ABC’s “Scandal,” FOX’s “9-1-1,” VH1’s “Daytime Divas,” and OWN’s “If Loving You Is Wrong,” to name a few.
