World-leading eyewear event in New York announces pop up fashion shows, expansive showcase of designer eyewear fashions.

The latest eyewear fashion trends and products are set to be unveiled at the world’s leading eyewear industry event,

 International Vision Expo & Conference at the Javits Center

in New York, NY (March 31 – April 2, 2017).

Co-owned by The Vision Council and Reed Exhibitions, the annual International Vision Expo & Conference will feature pop up fashion shows and celebrity-hosted trend presentations in its lineup of fashion-forward programming, reminding visitors why Vision Expo is the destination for eyewear visionaries.

The show will also cover a broad spectrum of new innovations in the eye care industry, showcasing the latest advances in design, technology, medical care, education and business.

Attendees will have the opportunity to access over 5,000 brands and the designers who drive the trends while immersing themselves in the ultimate fashion hub for eyewear and sun wear.

On Friday, March 31, four “moving” fashion shows presenting a troupe of models walking the show floor – wearing chic black outfits, wild hair and makeup, and the season’s hottest statement glasses and sunglasses – will turn the show floor into a runway as they feature the latest eyewear found in the exhibit hall.

Each show will culminate at the Bryant Park Lounge (Booth 1953) with fashion expert and New York Times bestselling style guide author, Jill Martin, sharing the latest eyewear trends in colors, shapes, details and lenses.

10:30 am: COLORS – super bold, colorful frames in neons, pastels, neutrals, and more
12:00 pm: SHAPES – out-of-the box silhouettes
2:00 pm: DETAILS – embellishments, patterns and prints, cut-outs, matte finishes, and everything in between
4:00 pm: LENSES – mirrored, tinted, gradient, patterned lenses (sunglasses only)

Education Highlights of the International Vision Expo & Conference in New York include:

In addition to numerous innovative programs added to the education curriculum, many specialty events will take place throughout the show floor.

Interactive Pop Up Talks are new to Vision Expo East this year, allowing participants to learn about various topics in fashion, business and social media with intimate, dynamic learning sessions.

This is ideal for influencers, buyers, retailers and trendspotters who want to get up-to-date information from leaders in the eyewear industry in just 30 minutes.

Independent’s Day: A Celebration of Independent Minded Vendors and Retailers,

 An invitation-only Boutique Buyer Panel, will include both high-end retailers and exhibitors from Vision Expo.

This event offers the opportunity for attendees to learn from a dynamic panel of suppliers and buyers representing the uber-chic and aspirational high-end eyewear category (Saturday, April 1, 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm).

Fashion and innovation-focused continuing education sessions, including Technology & Fashion and the Impact on Eyewear, led by Pia Taveras, will explore how trends are driven by advancements in technology and how fashion houses work to keep the leading edge of this industry (Sunday, April 2, 8:30 am – 9:30 am).
