Net Zero Is The New Black (Not Orange)

The zero waste fashion industry is still relatively underexplored and achieved, even considering that approximately 15 million tons of used textile waste is generated each year in the U.S. In an effort

to change that and make sustainable fashion the norm, LIVARI, a new zero waste, women-led, women-designed label collaboration, has partnered with Cool Effect, a non-profit supporting carbon reduction projects with consistent crowdfunding across the globe, to help them achieve net zero emissions. In addition to using responsible fabrics, LIVARI has retired an additional 25 tonnes of carbon to cover their initial carbon footprint by supporting a biogas digester project in Bagepalli, India which converts cow dung into clean biogas.

The passionate trio behind the LIVARI launch and label collaboration – actress and environmental activist, Alysia Reiner, celebrity stylist, Claudine DeSola, and designer and Women’s March organizer, Tabitha St. Bernard-Jacobs – will be debuting the inaugural collection on Wednesday, September 13 at New York Fashion Week as part of Kia STYLE360.
