5 Traditional Pieces You Can Wear Year Round.

One issue that keeps coming up over and over is what to buy and how to wear it.

Did you know statistics have shown we only wear 20% of what is in our closets?

It’s a fact, we all want to save money, wear what we have and feel confident in our choices.

Rest assured, here are a few timeless transitional pieces you can wear all year long.

1. Chambray Shirt

This is one of my favorite all time wardrobe staples. You can wear it in the winter with jeans and boots under your favorite coat or you can lighten it up for warmer weather, rolling up the sleeves with shorts or skirts.

2. Long Sleeve Maxi-Dress

One might think I’m nuts for considering a maxi-dress for yearlong wear. However, it’s one of the easiest pieces you can transition. Why? Because it’s one piece! You can layer your flowing ensemble with an oversized sweater, vest or jacket, tights and boots for winter. For fall, try a moto jacket and booties. And for summer and spring dress stay cool with heels or gladiators.

3. Vest

Depending on your style personality in-vest in a cool vest! You can wear the cozy piece over dresses, sweaters, lightweight cardigans and t-shirts. I bought a faux-fur vest two years ago and I wear it about 1-2 times a week. If you’re not into faux-fur try a utility vest or a longline blazer vest.

4. Perfect Fitting Jeans

When it comes to darling denims, quality is key. You can dress them up with over-the knee boots, heels, ballet flats or down with sandals or canvas shoes. The trick is the fit and style. Avoid any embellishments on the pockets. Tanks and t-shirts for the summer/spring season and sweaters, chambrays, blouses, cardigans for chilly seasons will give you more bang for your fashion buck.

5. Booties

Booties used to be a big fashion no-no for summer but times are changing! Great thing about this stylish and practical footwear is you can pair them with dresses in the warmer months without looking too heavy – especially the peep-toe styles.

Woo-hoo!
