NEW YORK-BASED CANADIAN DESIGNER, VICTORIA HAYES, TO DEBUT SS19 COLLECTION IN TORONTO AT RE\SET™ 004
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, August 22, 2018
TORONTO – New York based designer, Victoria Hayes, will be unveiling her coveted Spring/Summer 2019 collection at RE\SET™ 004, in collaboration with Toronto Fashion Week. Hayes will present the collection with a non-traditional static presentation on the runway, September 4 at 5 P.M. in Yorkville Village, 136 Yorkville Avenue.
Her new collection features a bold, bright colour palette and ornate fabrics and is inspired by Hayes’s take on “Retro Miami Beach.” The collection will feature vintage inspired beach T-shirts, colorful silk suiting, hand cut Italian sheet plastic embellishments and custom prints. The brand is centered around the dichotomy in present-day womanhood: beautiful yet aggressive, romantic yet protective, tough but precious.
“I’m thrilled to present my new collection for the first time in Toronto under the RE\SET™ umbrella,” states Victoria Hayes, designer and creative director. “Toronto will always be my real home and I’m excited to return home with such a fun and celebratory collection.”
Victoria Hayes’s show at RE\SET™ 004, will mark the first-ever formal presentation from the brand. However, since its inception in late 2016, Hayes has built a solid celebrity following including Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Alicia Keys and Cardi B; alongside coverage in top international publications including WWD, Vogue Italia, V Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, ELLE, Nylon and Paper Magazine. The return home to Toronto, pays tribute to the place where Hayes originally dreamed of becoming a designer, while also marking a major milestone for the RE\SET™ brand as it continues to attract attention from Canadian designers based internationally.“I am excited to welcome Victoria Hayes to our roster this season. She is an incredibly talented designer and definitely one-to-watch” states Mel Ashcroft, marketing director of THE COLLECTIONSTM. “I anticipate her presentation will be remarkable and not to be missed.”
Hayes is known for her astute attention to detail, hand painted prints, daring choice of colour and ornate embellishments. Her mission is to empower women with designs that inspire confidence and positively impact women’s lived experience.
MORE ABOUT VICTORIA HAYES
Victoria Hayes grew up in Toronto. Her first major exposure to fashion was the television program ‘Fashion Television’ hosted by Jeanne Beker. Hayes always loved art and design, but fashion took a backseat until her last year of pre-med studies at McMaster University with a realization that her passion for design outweighed her interest in pursuing a career in medicine. Hayes enrolled in summer courses at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and later at Parsons the New School for Design where she graduated with a BFA while winning the prestigious school’s top honor, Women’s Wear Designer of the Year in 2014.
