AIKOMOTO SS23

Aikomoto born in Kyoto, she worked as a pattern maker and 3D modeler.

After moving to Paris, she changed her career path to knitting.

Since her childhood, she has been familiar with crochet and hand knitting and learned machine knitting in Paris.

The search for biodegradable materials such as Tapioca plastic also began in Paris.

She graduated as a knitwear designer and pattern maker in the Ecole de la Maille de Paris and won the grand “Prix du jury” in

2020.

In this collection,  Aikomoto works with sustainable material sourcing with approximately 70% of the materials that are recycled.

She always uses leftover yarns, and old knits to transform them or to collect the threads, and even old backpacks become the clothes of her universe.
