Alice & Olivia FW19

Stacey Bendet recently took the Angel Orensanz Center to create what she calls the “dark-mystery-fantasy world” that is her Fall/Winter 2019 collection. Attendees, with the likes of Paris Hilton, Victoria Justice, Olivia Culpo and more gathered closely and swept away into Bendet’s world of Fantasia.

Most notable from the collection were Bendet’s remarkably vibrant butterfly prints; when asked about the neon green, turquoise, and even purple prints, Bendet described them as her “electric color butterfly.” A highly provocative sequined body-con dress printed in both leopard and zebra proved that the two prints worn together can have an appealing appearance, while a fabulous one sleeve zebra print frock with matching knee-high boots showed that wearing just one print is quite alright too. Besides prints galore, Bendet spoke out with the phrases/words “grateful, go love yourself and strong female protagonist” on a few of her pieces. She also stood by the puffer coat fad with silver, black and white coats for next Fall.

The Angel Orensanz Center was the location for Bendet’s Fantasia because she said the building fit her bill for being “a little bit dark and sexy” and almost feeling “like you’re walking into some crazy old fairy tale.” The idea for this potential show location came to Bendet 15 years ago at a wedding where she then knew she must present a show there one day.
