For Spring/Summer 2026, Bora Aksu drew inspiration from a deeply personal archive of broken dolls collected over many years. Figures with cracked porcelain cheeks & faded pastel dresses became the foundation for a collection that transformed fragility into strength. Each imperfection carried its own narrative, reimagined in garments that celebrated resilience & the haunting beauty of what is fractured, delicate, & unfinished. The collection moved fluidly between childlike innocence & mature melancholy. Slimline dresses trimmed with lace, hand-embroidered butterflies & flowers gently on bodices, & gingham softened into sheer overlays. Contemporary asymmetry, layering, & transparency brought a sense of vulnerability while creating unexpected modernity. Delicate cut-outs & raw edges reinterpret the porcelain cracks of the dolls, shaping silhouettes that embodied ethereality & resilience.

Aksu turned to vintage-inspired fabrics as it weaved memory into design. The discovery of a small lace manufacturer in Istanbul & their dead stocks from the 1980s provided a limited source of unique laces & trims. The Lace-trimmed cottons, softened ginghams, faded taffetas. & layers of pastel tulles were combined with sheer organza & diaphanous silks. These textiles. recalling time-worn frocks, were revived through intricate craftsmanship, which merged nostalgia with innovation. Each material choice spoke to the dialogue between fragility & endurance, delicacy & strength. Colours unfolded with the softness of faded keepsakes, powder pinks, soft corals, & peaches. These tender hues were anchored by moments of depth: ghostly whites, shadowy blacks, & touches of midnight blue, which added contrast & grounded the dreamlike aesthetic.

“Broken dolls remind me that beauty does not lie in perfection but in the traces of love, time & survival,” said Bora Aksu. “Through this collection, I wanted to create a world where flaws & cracks are celebrated not as weakness, but as strength and beauty.”
