David Arkenstone Acclaimed Composer and Instrumentalist Best New Age Album ‘Fairy Dreams’
Composer/musician David Arkenstone has received a GRAMMY Awards nomination for Best New Age Album for Fairy Dreams, a collection of acoustic melodies woven into an extraordinary symphonic musical tapestry.
One of the best and most diverse contemporary instrumental musicians of our time, Arkenstone is a visionary known for creating distinctive tracks that inspire the imagination. A musical storyteller, Arkenstone is passionate about taking his listeners on a journey, creating sonic tapestries that evoke every emotion. Fairy Dreams offers up a mix of various music styles, merging the best elements of the acoustic world with the electronic world. Stirring listeners with the rousing strings of songs like “The Water Fairy” before taking them deep into the soothing depths of “Starpool,” Arkenstone says that his mission was “to illustrate through music the magic of the fairy world.”
Released by Green Hill, Fairy Dreams is the latest project through which Arkenstone has captivated audiences around the world. For years, the multi-instrumentalist has delivered stunning performances on the guitar, bass, mandolin, harp, cello, flute, piano, pan pipes, and more over dozens of albums and recordings that have been featured in top video games (World of Warcraft), television shows (the Kentucky Derby on NBC), and even at Disney theme parks in Orlando and Tokyo.
“I’m very excited to learn of my fourth GRAMMY nomination,” said Arkenstone. “I loved creating the magical world of Fairy Dreams and collaborating with some wonderful musicians. Thanks to Green Hill for getting my music out into the world and thanks to all my fans for their continual support.”
This makes Arkenstone’s fourth GRAMMY nomination; the musician has earned nominations for In the Wake of the Wind (1992), Citizen of the World (2000), and Atlantis (2004).
“We couldn’t be happier for David – someone who we have worked with in the roles of artist and producer for nearly two decades,” said Greg Howard, Executive Producer and VP/GM of Green Hill Productions. “The diversity of David’s artistry is unmatched in the New Age genre and I’m thrilled to see him continue to get the recognition he so rightly deserves.”
