We’re all addicted to digital devices
Yes, it’s real. And it’s worse than you think. Here are some alarming facts:

Of millenials use the internet for an average of 223 minutes per day.

1 in 3 Americans aren’t getting enough sleep at night—increasing risks to their optimal health and well-being.
How do they work?
Blocks Blue Light
Our blue light blocking lenses are coated with a blue light filter to keep out harmful rays emitted from your digital screens.
The premium scratch resistant nylon lens features backside anti-reflective coating—reducting reflections and eliminating glare
All of our eyewear is made with high quality frames, crafted from premium acetate, as well as designer stainless steel featuring 3-barrel hinges.
Symptoms of Prolonged Blue Light Exposure
It’s hard to conclude what all of the long term effects of extended screen time are. This is mainly because Millennials are the first generation with such high rates of digital exposure. But, we do know that some of the immediate effects are:
- Tired, heavy eyes
- Trouble falling asleep and staying asleep
- Blurred vision
- Dry eyes
All of these symptoms, at a minimum, are uncomfortable and a hindrance to daily productivity.
We’re probably not going to ditch our phones and laptops anytime soon, and most people have a hard time managing an hour without their phones, let alone a week. To help, we’ve created eyewear that works similarly to sunblock for your skin. Our Blue Light Blocking glasses protect your eyes by adding a barrier via a specialized lens that acts as a blue light filter to absorb some of the blue light rays so they don’t enter your eyes.
If you’re looking to mimic the look of prescription glasses, you can opt for the Standard Blue Light Blocking glasses with its clear lens. With its ability to block 30% of blue light, it is a great way to mitigate the risk of prolonged exposure to blue light waves.
What is Blue Light?
Recently, minimizing your blue light exposure has been the subject of many health discussions, but what even is Blue Light in the first place? Blue Light is classified on the light spectrum as HEV, or High Energy Visible light. This means that blue light greatly affects your circadian rhythm, or your internal sleep-wake clock, because it mimics the same light you receive from the sun. It can even block the melatonin your body produces that helps you to wind down after a long day. Looking at your phone screen or television at night before bed can cause your body to stay up later, disrupting your sleep cycle and possibly leading to sleep disorders such as insomnia. This is why screen glasses that have a blue light filter, like our Blue Light Blocking Glasses, can be very beneficial to your overall health and wellness.
DIFF Gives back
Every pair of DIFF glasses sold helps to provide the gift of sight to someone in need through eye exams, glasses, medicine, and surgery. To date, we’ve donated over 1.5 MILLION pairs of glasses worldwide — and that’s just the beginning of it.
SIGHTSAVERS x DIFF
DIFF is excited to announce our partnership with Sightsavers, an international organization leading the charge in providing vision to billions of people around the world (yes, billions!), as part of our 2020 Vision to expand our global impact.
Now, every pair of DIFFs sold helps to provide the gift of sight to someone in need through eye exams, surgeries, glasses, medicine, and more.
Sightsavers helps train local health workers who make vision check ups more accessible to everyone around the world. Like Bartwell, who received an eye exam at an outreach in his rural village in Malawai, Mpandasoni Village.
Sightsavers has provided 4 million pairs of glasses to allow people to see more clearly. Like Shadid, who received his first pair of glasses from a Sightsavers project in the urban slums of Patna in Bihar, India, and got to enjoy reading for his classmates.
Your support can help provide a quick, painless surgery to treat cataracts from the eye. Meet Criscent, a 6-year-old boy from Bundibugyo, Uganda, whose double cataract surgery, supported by Sightsavers, restored his vision and allowed him to enter school for the first time.
