Flor De Maria, a female-owned, self-funded US-based luxury shoe brand, has partnered with world-renowned Puerto Rican designer, Gustavo Arango, creating a retail space in his flagship store in Puerto Rico!  Having been seen on the feet of some of today’s top “It” girl trendsetting celebrities, Kylie Jenner, Halle Bailey, Saweetie, and Carrie Underwood to name a few, walking the hottest red carpets, the pair has announced today a curated exclusive selection of Flor de Maria’s sleek and elegant styles for their new venture!
“After seeing my namesake shoe line featured in major fashion magazines and worn by some of today’s most recognized celebrities worldwide as they walked the red carpets, it was clear to me the time had come to take things to the next level,” says Flor, founder of Flor de Maria.  “It is my pleasure to announce we are entering the retail space with an exclusive partnership with Gustavo Arango. “This is the first boutique to carry my shoe brand exclusively!”, she continued.

Launching this collaboration between both brands, Flor de Maria’s curated collection will be available in Gustavo Arango’s flagship boutique in the “Mall of San Juan”, Puerto Rico’s premiere shopping destination where shoppers can peruse luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Carolina Herrera, Bvlgari, Gucci, and Yves Saint Laurent.  To celebrate the collaboration, Flor de Maria and Gustavo Arango will host an inaugural press tour in San Juan and a Pop-Up event shortly.

“I have dreamt this for a long time; to be able to create my designs with the perfect shoe by my side, because the designs I make call for a stunning shoe to complement them,”, says Gustavo Arango.

Gustavo Arango is a household name in haute couture and bridal design. From Miss Universe competitions to editorial work, his creations are a staple for modern women. He was born in Colombia and raised in Puerto Rico, Mr. Arango’s appreciation for detail, intricate tailoring, and draping techniques have been making headlines for four decades.

Flor de Maria Rivera was born in Peru and migrated at the age of 14 with her family to the United States. You may know her from her stints as a TV host, style and beauty expert, or maybe from her days as an MLS publicist.

Rivera attended the University of San Diego, and soon after began a career in media as a sports anchor, reporter, producer, commentator, and writer for multiple media outlets including Telemundo, Univision, and much more. After being in the sports world for 12 years, she quit her job, launched a very successful bilingual fashion blog, and moved to NYC without any employment prospects, but full of dreams.

After many years on the hunt for the perfect pair of shoes—collecting almost 500 pairs, she decided to create her shoe line. Her never-ending search for great quality, style, versatility, and comfort has transitioned into her designs. Rivera went on to study at one of Italy’s top design schools, Arsutoria, as well as entrepreneurship at Stanford University.  She took a leap of faith and the rest is history! The Flor de Maria line has been inspired by the fearless females in her life, she calls, “her Queens.”
