JULIEN FOURNIÉ

JULIEN FOURNIÉ HAUTE COUTURE

Spring-summer 24

‘First Vamps’

“Glossy” lips on sharp canines, Julien Fournié reconnects with the codes of fantasy to celebrate the power of women. Each creation here constitutes a subtle blend of sensuality and mystery. Each piece, designed with meticulous precision, enhances the essence of the seduction of the wearer.

Assumed tempters, these femme fatales use all their finery to assert themselves and seduce. The antipodes of any submission, like any rose-water romanticism, raise their heads and frankly dare to display their slender silhouette, as if cut with a scalpel.

Luxurious fabrics and impeccable finishes add to the sophistication. The first silhouette sets the tone of this very Parisian elegance, made of freedom and audacity; in a unique black feather tweed – the result of a collaboration with plumassier Julien Vermeulen – Julien Fournié profiles a mid-calf sheath, a sumptuous setting for the body.

Followed by real textile sculptures in Prince of Wales, denim, panther-print leather which play on asymmetries, oversized Victorian sleeves, shaded or embroidered transparencies, anatomical cutouts, as if to reinterpret the entire feminine wardrobe in a suit, a uniform with futuristic cutouts, a very short trench coat, an embroidered jacket… so many excuses to give back to all clothes their playful, festive and refined dimension.

Like those who wear them, the models adorned with flowers delight and impress. These mandrakes intimate respect with touches on a neckline, or in a generous bouquet on a hip. A jacket, a spell of embroidery, is worn alone on bare skin with seamed stockings and impetuous heels. The bramble of a carnivorous plant born from a fantastic imagination takes possession of a corset, On the sheaths of the evening, the sparkling petals of the giant flowers deploy their dangerous attractions.

Embroidery has become a major asset here. Julien Fournié imposes it on all ages and in all states. Far from reserving his style only for young girls, the French designer even allowed his muse, Michaela Tomanova, seven months pregnant, to wear a jersey evening sheath constructed from an embroidered harness on the shoulders.

The woman here uses accessories as so many assets of voluptuousness: from embroidered bags – a signature of the House, to dizzying stilettos, from suspender belts to gloves, she even wears lace parasols to add to the charm. The bride expresses her desire and dares to be transparent to conquer her bridegroom. It is she who activates the magic of attraction to express her love.

“With this collection which marks the 15th anniversary of the House, I wanted to recapture the joy, the fantasy, the lightness that is missing today,” declares Julien Fournié.

“Yes, clothing can help you transcend all anxiety-provoking climates and assert your personality without taboos.”
