MiA Founder and President Robby Takac along with MiA Executive Director, Tracy Shattuck and his Music Is Art {MiA} family have been in constant battle with Mother Nature when it comes to throwing Buffalo‘s Biggest FREE Music and Art Festival

Each year the ruler of the weather plays mean and nasty tricks on the event .. and RAIN seems to be her favorite weapon of choice, even raining on The Goo Goo Dolls FREE show back in 2004, July 4th.

Those that were there remember it well and still tell the tale of Goo Goo Dolls vs. Mother Nature !!

Well it seems that Robby and all the cast and crew will be taking on NEW GROUNDS to try to combat the lose of attendances.

This years Music Is Art  will be moving to Buffalo RiverWorks on Sept.9th – 11am till 2am!

We’ve had an amazing run in Delaware Park behind the Albright Knox over the past nine years,” Takac said. “But we were always at the mercy of the weather, and often, the weather was not kind to us.”

This year’s announcement of a change of venue gave our festival planners an opportunity to rethink and re-imagine the festival’s existing concepts and come up with an amazing rebirth of the MiA Festival along the newly re-energized Buffalo River.” Robby Takac

The change of venue gives us an opportunity to re-imagine our approach,” Takac said. “We’ll still have more than 15 stages, 100 bands, artists, DJs, live art – all the things we’re known for. But this year, most of the stages will be protected from the elements.”

With many Buffalo folks in attendance Robby Takac  announced the BIG NEWS!

During the Press Release Buffalo’s Mayor Byron W. Brown stopped in to show support and love for the Music is Art event.

Music is Art Festival is one of the premier cultural events in Buffalo each year,” Brown said.

We have a vibrant arts and culture scene here. And art equals economic development. I’m thankful to Robby and Music is Art for having their festival in the city of Buffalo.”

Music is Art will make its debut at the

Buffalo RiverWorks Entertainment Complex on Sept. 9 2017

This is STILL absolutely FREE to attend!!

The event will feature over 100 bands, 70 displaying artists and photographers, dozens of dance troupes, a plethora of DJs, and live art displays, and surprises around every corner.

The Festival will also feature the popular Kids Village which recreates the festival for younger friends

We will still be bringing our chaos and mayhem to over 15 stages, but this year the majority of them will be covered from the elements. This move has sparked an enormous outpouring of creative ideas, new partnerships and includes plenty of parking.” said MiA executive director, Tracy Shattuck.
