New York, NY, September 2023–Tanner Fletcher is pleased to unveil the latest collection for Spring / Summer 2024 with the brand’s first-ever runway show, which took place on Tuesday, September 12th. Titled “Beauty Pageant,” the latest NYFW outings showcased a modern take on the concept of a beauty pageant, celebrating inclusivity and diversity throughout an integral part of the Tanner Fletcher brand ethos since its inception. To bring this concept to life, the brand partnered with the Miss Universe Organization for the show, bringing a new air of pageantry to fashion week this season.
“Beauty Pageant” presents an array of nostalgia-inducing looks designed by the young couple behind the brand, Tanner Richie and Fletcher Kasell. Fusing vintage inspiration with the brand’s signature modern twist, each look is thoughtfully curated to redefine elegance and individuality for the modern consumer. As with all presentations, Tanner Fletcher’s show continued to celebrate diversity, empowerment, and breaking free from stereotypes. The brand’s unique collaboration with The Miss Universe Organization also marked a pivotal moment in popular culture, showcasing the beauty of all identities, regardless of gender, race, age, or sexuality. By reimagining the beauty pageant concept through the lens of Tanner Fletcher’s universe, the show underscored the message that beauty and talent transcend conventional norms.

The show featured over 80 thoughtfully designed pieces across 30 distinct looks, rounded out with a statement-making ivory gown worn by the current Miss Universe, R’Bonney Nola, who closed the show. Spring / Summer 2024 aims to redefine elegance and individuality for the modern shopper while celebrating nostalgia through a seamless collision of eras, from Victorian to the 1970s and 80s, all re-imagined for today. The brand’s commitment to inclusivity is displayed through an enchanting selection of styles for all occasions–from wedding and tailored looks to effortlessly playful separates. Notably, the collection introduces a stunning silk charmeuse garter belt, a versatile lingerie piece adorned with lace ruffles and elastic straps–destined to elevate any ensemble.
Standout looks for the season include a strapless ballgown and tailored suit, ideal for weddings and red carpets alike, featuring a new signature unfinished ruffle embellishment. Tanner and Fletcher developed this new embellishment concept while experimenting with scrap silk and leftover lace ribbon. By sewing multiple skinny strips of leftover ivory-toned silk, lace, and trims in channels along the base material and finishing the piece off by placing and hand-sewing miniature bows, the ruffles add a signature playfulness for which the brand has become known. This technique also makes an appearance on the placket of a cotton poplin tunic dress inspired by Victorian shirting in a unique twist.

The brand launched in 2020, tapping into the methodology one would use to arrange and decorate a home, reimagining a world in which inclusivity and acceptance are paramount.
