The Teletubbies and Christian Cowan Bring Fashion Nostalgia to New Capsule Collection

After Tinky Winky made his NYFW debut in September 2021 – where he visited Cowan backstage at his show – fans have been speculating that a partnership was in the works.  The capsule pays tribute to the iconic fashion photography from decades past – from which Cowan drew his inspiration.

Teletubbies x Christian Cowan is available for purchase exclusively on  The five-piece collection which starts at $195, includes a T-shirt, hoodie, jeans and denim jacket featuring screen prints from a fashion forward shoot starring the characters themselves.  Cowan has also designed a pair of show stopping boots paying tribute to his favorite Teletubby, Dipsy that will be available for special order.

WildBrain’s Teletubbies are making waves once again, this time partnering with British fashion designer and longtime fan of the brand, Christian Cowan. Tinky Winky, the group’s fashionista, turned heads at New York Fashion Week in September 2021, after being invited to an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Cowan’s show. Now, the full colorful quartet are serving as Cowan’s muses as he launches a brand-new, five-piece apparel collection that celebrates his love of the Teletubbies.

The collection speaks specifically to young adult consumers who grew up watching the Teletubbies and are now falling in love all over again with Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po, who have become pop culture icons, celebrated through viral social media moments, celebrity appearances, designer collabs and more. Many of these original fans of the Teletubbies are now parents themselves and delight in sharing a piece of their childhood with the next generation.

Cowan, who is renowned for his exuberant and whimsical designs, was inspired in creating the new collection to merge the Teletubbies with iconic, playful fashion campaigns that graced billboards and magazine pages in the early 90s when the brand first launched. “I grew up watching the Teletubbies, so being able to combine that nostalgia with my passion for fashion is a dream come true,” says Cowan. “The characters’ fun, playful personalities match my own design aesthetic, so I’m excited to launch this new collection to show the Teletubbies in a new light and celebrate them as the stars that they are.”

The limited edition Teletubbies collection, which features the characters in signature fashion poses printed on elevated essentials every day, including hoodies, t-shirt and denim, is now available for purchase on starting at $195. Additionally, Cowan has created a showstopping pair of knee-high boots in tribute to his favorite Teletubby, Dipsy, in neon green plush fabric.
