Son Jung Wan NYFW FW2018 Review by Serena Velarde
Son Jung Wan- Fall/Winter 2018
By Serena Velarde
Korean designer Son Jung Wan hit the mark with her latest Fall/Winter 2018 collection. Based on an ’80s inspiration, her fun and flirty collection is one to remember from NYFW. “More is more” is the staple theme of this collection filled with florals, fur, and sequins.
A mix of soft yellows, blues, and pinks is shown throughout the collection, creating the most elegant of looks. Son Jung Wan took millennial pink to a completely different level with her exquisite rose dust pink shearling jacket and pink leather shorts outfit. To complement this look is a delightful men’s rose dust pink coat and turtleneck with silk pants.
The wide-leg pant made its presence known in this collection multiple times. From the yellow silk jumpsuit, a pair of royal blue silk pants with 3D butterfly decor, and a silver woven top with matching wide-legged pants, Son Jung Wan made the wide leg look effortlessly chic.
The unique combination of florals and fur seen throughout NYFW last February was beautifully crafted in Son Jung Wan’s show. A flirtation between the spring and fall seasons occurred as floral-patterned jumpsuits were paired with fox fur scarfs and coats.
